This starter relies on the old Bendix drive technology. The Bendix drive is not as reliable as solenoid actuated starters, so starters relying on the old mechanical Bendix simply do not fit in a well-rounded portfolio of better, more reliable products from Sky-Tec, as well as HETs E-Drive and X-Drive lines. It is for this reason that HET will be discontinuing this line from 1st May 2016. The factory suggested replacement units are listed on this page.
