LYCOMING EIS
Lycoming's EIS meets the ever-growing performance requirements of modern-day aircraft design, including less maintenance, lower weight, and more spark control than a traditional magneto.
- The Lycoming EIS unit is a Lycoming proprietary design; it is engineered, tested and certified at the engine type certificate level
- Drop-in capable replacement for magnetos
- Service Instruction SI1070 is valid for certified engines, regardless of EIS installation, so there are no restrictions on fuel type (other than what is approved by engine model in SI1070).
- There are no maintenance intervals or inspections required, and the EIS unit matches the engine recommended TBO
- The Lycoming EIS does not require an STC for single installation
- The EIS eliminates the 500-hour inspection cost and, in single, fixed-timing installation allows for easier starting and smoother idle and better cold-start performance
Warranty: If an EIS unit is sold on a factory exchange engine, the unit carries the engine warranty. That is 6-24 months, depending on the condition of the engine from experimental to new. EIS ignition units installed as replacement parts are warranted against defects in material and workmanship for a period of either 24 months or the recommended TBO, whichever occurs first
